Hi, welcome to FruitBat!

I'm Lo, owner of FruitBat - the store AND her namesake!

What started as a hobby has now blossomed into this amazing new journey and I'm so glad to see you here!

I got into anime the same way everyone else did - Sailor Moon and whatever I could find on YouTube to watch... and growing up in various spaces, it could be really hard to find friends who liked the same things, or spaces for myself that were still age appropriate as my parents had no idea what kind of community this could be, or where to find merch for me growing up that wasn't just Hello Kitty (although I was Sailor Moon for Halloween in a little town in Ohio before she caught on to mainstream western media).

So when I had my son, and he turned out to be a big fan too... well... it definitely became harder to find items for just him and just me without doing a lot of digging or internet searching for things in either of our sizes (or, again, age-appropriate items).

Then, as we got Momo, our dog, for my son when we were living in El Paso to help keep him busy... it took a little bit before they clicked but now they're pretty great siblings to each other and he loves his dog - no matter how much she wants to push him over!

And if you didn't guess it yet, Momo is a Malinois! Which is WHY it kinda made sense that after naming our dog Momo, and considering that Malinois' are called 'fruit bats', I would name my next baby.... FruitBat!
